Located at Juan Dolio, 40 miles east of the capital city of Santo Domingo on the southern shore of the Dominican Republic, the Capella Beach Resort's facilities are sited around a central green running down to the beach. The project integrates in its current site plan new entrance, reception, restaurant, beach club and pool facilities with extensively modified bedroom wings from a previous unfinished venture.
Guests arrive at a Reception Pavillion at the center of the green through a glazed roof passage from the Entrance facilities. The bedroom wings are located directly across a paved plaza and run along the main axis of the site, curving around at the north end.
The green has been planned and landscaped to provide ocean views from all points of the property, wich runs perpendicular to the beach. Internal circulation is on foot, complemented by resort operated vehicles.
Food and entertainement facilities consist of a thatched roofed restaurant and pool, terraced on a gentle rise near the bedroom wings and a beach club with a pool, bar and restaurant.
